a new start..

Hey,

literally haven't posted on this for ages. I even forgot I had it to be honest, but I decided I might give it a go again! Here's to a new start.

Lately I have been doing my illustration which I love so much. I currently don't have my cards/prints on sale online but will start that up soon. I am however selling some in a small boutique in Hull called Camden's Closet, which sells women's clothing, menswear and accessories.

This is a freehand card which I made the other day for my friend who graduated. It's quite different to the style I usually do but I really enjoyed doing it. Have made a few more personalised ones for friends upcoming birthdays. I've also decided to do some special Christmas cards for close friends and family. When I have done some designs I will post them up.

Well...Halloween is tomorrow. I actually love Halloween but never do much for it which sucks. I did however carve a pumpkin the other day a la Jack Skellington, but apart from that, not much else spooky is going on. I had already decided on my outfit if I were to venture anywhere, which was going to be the simple but effective look of Wednesday Addams. Yeah, I know it's an oldie but I do think it's a good look.

Well I will finish this short and long awaited post with a picture of the amazing Wednesday and my spooky pumpkin creation. More posts will be up soon, I promise! Getting back into this blogging thing is fun, even if I am unsure whether anyone still reads this? Is there anyone out there?

Au revoir!

girl crush/style icon

Hello,

Hope everyone is enjoying the awesome weather. I certainly have, but maybe did a bit too much today. I went and burnt the bottom of my bum...silly me. Hurts so much, but I only have myself to blame I guess!
I have hardly been on my computer due to the glorious sunshine, but I've been looking for some style inspiration and have definitely found my new style-icon-girl-crush-extreme. She's called Tricia Gosingtian and you may already have seen her/follow her style posts, but I have just found her and she is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Extreme style envy and hair envy! I thought I would post a few of my favourite looks, which I may try to re-create.

I adore the amount of collars she uses to style her outfits. I just think they finish the overall look really well, and dress up a casual sweater or t-shirt. I've been thinking about interview clothes for when I go to London and start (hopefully!) having interviews. I find summer sometimes hard to interview dress for. Winter I feel is a lot easier, but in summer you want to make sure you're cool (temp-wise!) but still look good and smart. Browsing through Tricia's blog and Lookbook helps as I think there are a lot of cute styles, perfect for that summer interview.

All images are from Tricia Gosingtian's blog and Facebook.

I may have a go at making some collars to add edginess to some of my outfits. But for now I shall go and pour after-sun all over my poor, burnt body.

doodles

Hello,

I decided to change my illustrations a bit and went back to some cartoon-style drawings. The four girls were a mixture of some clothes from various places such as Topshop, River Island and American Apparel which I really want. It sucks not having my scanner right now so I have to keep posting not very good Instagram pictures. I've been looking through lots of pictures and getting inspiration and it's nice going back to my old style of drawing sometimes, I'm going to do lots more soon. I like the style of the thicker black pen then with the thinner pen showing more of the smaller detail.

I'm also still loving drawing models and will just have to do a few pictures of Anja Konstantinova as she is a babe! I just love her - especially in a Wildfox photo shoot. Expect lots of drawings of her too!

Another drawing of Daphne Groeneveld. I just love drawing her so much. I might start doing some illustrations of clothing soon, using different thickness of black pens. Will post up when I have started.

I enjoy working with paints, and trying to improve my drawing/sketching. I've been doing way too much computer images, I need to get back to basics. These are two more illustrations of models. The bottom one is Christian Dior spring rtw 2012. Hope you like.
