apparently, news just in, maison martin margiela has officially stepped down from the company. instead of designing he now wants to try his hand at painting, as he has a keen passion for it. i've never really been a fan of margiela, or the secretiveness of the man himself but its big news. even know many have known for months about his departure, now it is official. 20 years after building up the house, margiela has just decided to walk away, contrary to rumors of himself and renzo rosso (founder of diesel, which have owned a majority of the margiela company since 2002) falling out with eachother.
with the first margiela fragrance out next year and a spa hotel opening on friday in bordeux, the company don't seem to be drifting away from the frontline without their main man.
oh well, only time will tell.
