doodles

Hello,

I decided to change my illustrations a bit and went back to some cartoon-style drawings. The four girls were a mixture of some clothes from various places such as Topshop, River Island and American Apparel which I really want. It sucks not having my scanner right now so I have to keep posting not very good Instagram pictures. I've been looking through lots of pictures and getting inspiration and it's nice going back to my old style of drawing sometimes, I'm going to do lots more soon. I like the style of the thicker black pen then with the thinner pen showing more of the smaller detail.

I'm also still loving drawing models and will just have to do a few pictures of Anja Konstantinova as she is a babe! I just love her - especially in a Wildfox photo shoot. Expect lots of drawings of her too!

Another drawing of Daphne Groeneveld. I just love drawing her so much. I might start doing some illustrations of clothing soon, using different thickness of black pens. Will post up when I have started.

I haven't posted in a while, but today I felt a little productive so I decided to start some more illustrations/paintings. I don't have my scanner right now so they are just taken off my iphone. I haven't used paints in a while but I love using them, so from now on I will use paint as one of my main art media's. I am also going to look around charity shops to find old frames and hopefully put some of my work up on Etsy. I shall link when I'm done.

Miss Free!

hello,

as i love miss charlotte free so much, i thought i would do another picture of her. i love these pictures from this catwalk so i knew i had the use another one. first i sketched it and went over with black fine liner pens, then i scanned it onto my laptop and played around with it in Photoshop. the second picture down is a bit weird when you look at it, which i got from just layering the line of the image. i then decided to colour it in to get the amazing pink of her hair. instead of it just being white i thought adding a background would be pretty cool, and who doesn't love tye-dye?!

hope you like!

hospital days

hello,
i've been in hospital for most of today (family reasons) so i've literally been back about an hour and a half. i decided i wouldn't be able to get straight to sleep and had the sudden urge to draw. i'm so happy i have started drawing properly again as it's something i have done all my life and to lose that would suck. as you can see on the screen of my computer - i have model pictures, like i said yesterday, i am finding them really inspiring. usually the backstage shots and beauty close ups i like best but i may do some catwalk illustrations soon. perhaps in mix media too as i like to mess around. anyway, the picture i've done tonight is of Daphne Groeneveld. she has such an interesting face. the image looks kinda scary and it's not finished yet, but when i am i shall scan it in (as my crappy iphone picture does not do it justice) and post it on here and my portfolio site.

i still love sketching my all time favourite Charlotte Free, so i may do some later this week. tomorrow i will be at the hospital again so i will pack my new polka-dot back pack from Primark (so cute!) full of pens, pencils and plenty of paper!

au revoir,
emily

model inspiration

today i managed to brave it out in the snow & made it to some shops to get art supplies. i did actually have to go out for something important - i'm not just a crazy person who likes to risk traveling in the snow for just pencils and paper! anyway, i have been busy sketching so hopefully i will have lots of pretty illustrations to put up on my website soon.

my main inspiration like i said in my last post is models. i just find their faces so interesting to draw and have been visiting various model tumblrs etc and trawling through a vast amount of images to find ones i want to draw. i thought i would post a selection of my favourite. i'm also thinking of illustrating some of my favourite garments from upcoming collections and different trends.

These are some illustrations of models I have been doing. Models are obviously models for a reason & they are so nice to draw. When I get paid next I am going to buy lots of new art equipment & some nice pens with different thicknesses. Please check out my website - emilylegge.co.uk
There isn't loads on it but I will try do lots more asap like today. I might just watch Jersey Shore & draw.
